Product description: 
This oil is obtained via cold compression of Thistle seeds - not to be mistaken with Milk thistle (Silybum marianum) - and has been used for centuries across the globe, but mainly in both Eastern and Western cultures. The plant itself is much like the thistle, and as the yellow petals drop they leave the seeds behind.
One of the oldest crops known to mankind, Safflower was recorded by chemical analysis of ancient Egyptian textiles dated  to the Twelfth Dynasty identified dyes made from Safflower and garlands of the bright orange flower head were found in the tomb of the Pharoah Tutankhamun.
 
Safflower is known by many names e.g. Thistle, False Saffron, Dyer's Saffron, American Saffron, Bastard Saffron etc as its flowers are sometimes used in cooking as a cheaper alternative to Saffron. It is even used to adulterate the very expensive True Saffron even though they are in not in any way related. 
 
The principle Fatty Acid in Safflower Oil is 78% Linoleic Acid content, a secret weapon in fighting acne problems which cannot be synthesized by the human body. Safflower oil occupies a unique position as an oil with the highest level of Linoleic Acid available commercially.
