Choosing the right oil for any purpose.

Hi there,

We are getting closer to the all out fun that is blending, just a few more posts to go so we can all be fully prepared and confident in our knowledge for the mission at hand.

The question for today is how to know which essential oil to choose?

The best way in my opinion is to check the uses and benefits of the oils you are interested in and ensure they are effective for your particular issue and as many more potential or present issues as possible. As for me, i am a proud Ijebu chick so every oil must run multiple duties, the more it can do the better for me.

However, you must be sure to pay attention to cautions for each oil, application method, allergies you may have (if you're allergic to the plant, you should avoid the oil and any product it is used in) and any contraindications the oil may have with existing medical issues or medications.

We will provide you with some examples, but it is important to dilute the oils properly, consider your individual reactions, and watch closely for adverse effects which is why we recommend a skin patch test before using any new oils you get one at at time before creating a blend with any of them. If you react to any one of them, clean the test area off with a carrier oil and do not use that oil again for anything.

Some I’m sure you have already e.g. Lavender (to get the full effects and benefits of this oil it HAS to be pure true Lavender, I prefer Bulgarian to English or French but that’s just me), Peppermint, Rosemary, Grapefruit etc.

Well we'll talk about that, next time.....

Till then..

Peace & Love
